Giuseppe Piumatti, a life devoted to the environment

Founder of Bra Servizi, a company specialized in industrial, commercial and private drain cleaning and sewage management, Giuseppe Piumatti boasts thirty years of experience in the environmental sector. In the beginning Giuseppe Piumatti acted as both manager and sole employee. Thanks to the efficient service he offered – 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year – Bra Servizi increased its customer base. During this period, to accompany his growing business, Alba Spurghi was created, a company dealing with sewage and sludge.

Resolute, committed and naturally dynamic, Grand Officer Piumatti expanded his business in the 1990’s by increasing the number of services provided thanks to the creation and merging of companies, each one specialized in specific activities in the ecological and environmental field. It didn’t take long for his group to become a reference point for the recycling, storage, treatment and disposal of waste in the North of Italy.

Since 2000, Gruppo Piumatti has embraced a policy of diversification allowing new activities every year that guarantee a 360 service that meets all the clients’ requirements.

Piumatti was President of Confapi Cuneo and between November 2013 and mid 2015 he was President of Confapi Piedmont as well as a permanent member of the Used Tyres board at the Ministry of the Environment.

In 2013 he has also been bestowed the title of Grande Ufficiale al Merito della Repubblica Italiana (Commander – Order of Merit of the Italian Republic).

Sonia Piumatti, the future of waste is pink

The eldest daughter of Giuseppe Piumatti, Sonia graduated in Industrial Engineering at Turin Polytechnic where she took part in an exchange programme with the École de Management Léonard de Vinci, Paris. She has been with Bra Servizi for ten years, and currently holds the position of attorney responsible for purchasing, marketing and human resources. Despite her young age, Sonia is councillor of the National Committee of Young Entrepreneurs Confapi and chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs Confapi of Cuneo. She is also an advisor to the Banca di Bene Vagienne.

Environmentally aware and active in the community, Sonia was part of the committee for the nomination of the Langhe to a World Heritage Site. For the past few years she has been in the front line for the improvement of services in her territory. Thanks to her the first water dispenser was born. The new system allows people to buy either still or sparkling water at a low price, thus saving money and reducing environmental impact. It has been calculated that the reduction of plastic bottles consumption is about 135.000 tons. Sonia recently became a mother to a beautiful baby girl in July 2015 Sonia loves travelling, especially going on adventurous journeys. She also has a passion for rallying and she races with her father.

Sabrina Piumatti

Born in 1988, Sabrina is the second daughter of Giuseppe Piumatti. She has joined Bra Servizi in 2010 starting her career in the Logistics department, acquiring the skills and expertise necessary to control stock levels and operate storage facilities. She has learned how to run a warehouse and manage forms. After a period in the sales department, where she has followed all the stages of customer service in order to maximize the support provided, from September 2011 – the date which marked the beginning of the new national system for the management of used tyres (PFU) – she has been in charge of the management of used tyres in Bra Servizi.

From the beginning of 2015 she has been working alongside her father and sister in the running of the company, with special focus in the area of human resources.
